Help me give my students a new experience in music by giving them an opportunity to play the ukulele as well as expanding percussion equipment at our school.
We are a rural village school on the coast of Maine. Our school has 125 students from K-8th grade. We use a multi-age, collaborative approach to our learning. Ours students grow to be kind, caring, respectful and responsible citizens.
Our students learn to set goals and commit to the hard work and reward for achieving them.
We as a staff work collaboratively and creatively to provide enrichment opportunities in language arts, math, science, technology, music, art, drama, library arts and physical education.
My Project
Performing on the Ukulele will bring a new dimension to World Music in our school. They will open the door to popular musical expression through improvisation, chord changes and realization.
All of our 125 students will benefit from the expansion of our percussion offerings in the general music classroom.
We will especially enjoy the jingle bells as we carol throughout our community visiting shut-ins.
The new drum set and cymbal equipment will revitalize our jazz band performances. We have one complete drum set and a second kit that was donated but is in need of hardware. We would appreciate your help to make the kit playable.
