My Students
What memories do you have from when you were in school? Do you have pictures of your classmates or teachers that can tell a great story? Have you ever wished you would have taken a picture of a special moment in school?
I teach at a school that has a very high poverty rate.
Many of my students are not able to afford school pictures or yearbooks. Many parents do not have transportation to attend school functions in which their children perform in. My students are creative and passionate about school and strive for their parent and peer approval. When their parents are unable to attend functions they become upset. Taking pictures could prevent them from becoming upset. I would be able to send their pictures home so they can share their experiences and accomplishments with parents and peers. I want to boost my students confidence and set the stage for them to achieve all their dreams and capture those moments through pictures.
My Project
I would like to create a memory book for each child to take home to remember their kindergarten year. I would take various pictures of different school events, individual pictures, and class pictures to create the memory books. I would also include work from various projects such as creative writing. With the requested materials I would be able to provide students with a gift of memories and accomplishments. I have requested a camera, photo printer, and photo paper.

I want to provide my students with pictures that can help them recall all their friends, teachers, accomplishments, and success story's to share for years to come. I want students to know that their accomplishments and success stories do not go unnoticed and cherish them through a memory book of pictures.
