Making Math Visible: Magnetic Tools for Deeper Understanding

My Project

Math can be challenging for many students, especially when they struggle to visualize abstract concepts. That’s why I’m requesting magnetic math tools to bring lessons to life and make learning more interactive for my fifth graders.

These hands-on materials—including magnetic fraction strips, spinners, rulers, fraction circles, a classroom clock, a place value chart, and number bond sets—will help my students better understand key math concepts.

With these tools, they’ll be able to physically manipulate and clearly see how numbers, fractions, time, and place value work together.

Using magnetic visuals on the board during whole group instruction allows every student to follow along, engage, and build stronger number sense. Whether we’re exploring equivalent fractions, telling time, or breaking down multi-digit numbers, these tools will help make learning more concrete and accessible.
