My Students
Do you remember your early years in elementary school? What math did you learn? Did you study geometry, prealgebra, graphing and measurement?
My 1st through 3rd grade students are very capable of understanding the advanced mathematics, however they still need to memorize their math facts.
They love the challenging mathematics, but many struggle with the memorization of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts.
My Project
My students need materials like the math boards to encourage them to work on memorizing essential math facts. This math board material has six sets of write and wipe dry erase books with timers. The reusable books have six pages of problems which cover the following skills: addition facts to 12; addition facts to 18; subtraction facts to 12; subtraction facts to 18: multiplication facts and division facts.
This project also includes dry erase markers because the children will use the product so much that they will need an ample supply of the markers which are also requested for this project. I have observed children using math boards. The children loved the material. They couldn't wait for a turn to use the boards. In the process of interacting with the material, the children memorized their facts. Once my students have memorized these basic facts, they will be able to become even better at solving math problems.
Can you help me offer my students an interesting and enjoyable way to memorize basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts?
These boards with timers will provide the children with material that will encourage them to focus on learning this essential information.
