My students need math centers, facts stamps, and a stamp pad.

My Students
Workstations. They're what make my classroom, well, work! What are workstations, anyway? You see, working with individual students and in small groups is incredibly important. To make it possible, I create workstations so the remaining students are engaged in meaningful activities. It's pretty cool!
My 4th graders anticipate workstations.
They enjoy having the opportunity to work and learn together. We already use them daily in our literacy class. DonorsChoose has been instrumental in helping me provide meaningful educational activities that my students work on independently or in a small learning group. Games, readers' theater, books on CD, writing workshops, literature circles, and more are some of the activities that are provided. This approach is working, too! Our reading scores, fluency rates, and comprehension skills have improved tremendously. I know it's due, in part, to our workstations.
So here's my problem: It seems that math has been put on the "backburner," so to speak. We've focused so much on reading, math simply hasn't been a priority. I think this is a big mistake. To improve our math skills, my goal is to begin working with small groups and individuals on specific skills as I do with reading. To make this happen, I need resources to create math workstations.
My Project
I am requesting a variety of "help yourself" math centers from Lakeshore Learning. The quality of these resources is phenomenal! Time, money, fractions, measurement, place value, and geometry will be the main standards to be targeted through the activities. This resource includes all of the hands-on manipulatives so that students can complete each activity independently or in small groups. Best of all, the activities gradually progress in difficulty, so my kiddos can build skills at just the right level! Also, I'm requesting stamps to help my lower performing students learn basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. Some of my students enter 4th grade ill-equipped because they don't know their basic facts--I want to fix this problem in a jiffy! The stamps will be a huge help. Because Lakeshore's products are quality, they will be used for years to come!
I LOVE my school!
It holds a special place in my heart because this is where my family and live--it's our community! Unfortunately, the majority of our students are considered underprivileged. Sometimes they don't have pencil and paper. Well, I make sure they have what they need HERE. My students know I care. However, I wouldn't have literacy stations if donors like you hadn't helped me! Please help me make a difference in math! We'll make you proud!
