This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach high school students who are considered "at risk." Our students have had many obstacles to overcome, but continue to push themselves! They are wonderful and hardworking individuals that have a second chance and want to make the most out of their lives.
My Project
I think math needs to be meaningful to my students; therefore, I do a lot of engaging/real world activities in my classroom. My students learn best by hands on activities.
So with the current situation my students will not be allowed to share materials.
Many of my students don't have the means to purchase their own supplies. If we are able to get some of these items, each student will have their own calculator, white board, markers, pencils, and paper to continue to learn in an engaging manner. I know my students will benefit greatly from these materials.
I love doing lessons and games where students are able to use their own
white board to participate. If all the students have a white board I will be see how well the students are understanding the math problems and give individual feedback.
