This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher serving a low income area, there are specific challenges that my students face both in and out of the classroom. These eager and excited young students come to school every day ready to learn and happy to explore. Unfortunately, situations beyond their control threaten their success on a daily basis.

Many of my students have a difficult time securing the basic supplies they'll need for daily use.

For this reason, my projects on DonorsChoose are of vital importance to my students. I believe that it is my duty to provide these exceptional young thinkers the best opportunities that I possibly can. My diverse group of dedicated and inquisitive students will get the chance they deserve with the help of these resources.

My Project

As much as possible, I try to incorporate small group math instruction into my day. Centers enable me to get small groups instruction to target my student's needs. The challenge is finding activities for the rest of my students to do that are engaging and worth their time and effort.

Math games are a great way to both keep students learning independently and reinforce math as a fun and interactive subject.

This complete set of math games will help students have fun with math while also reinforcing the skills that they learned in their lesson. The games use picture prompts which makes them simple to use for my students who are still learning English.
