My students need various board games to use with math task cards to make problem solving more fun.

My Students
Can you imagine being 10 years old and not having any math manipulatives to learn certain concepts? Well my students do not have what they need to learn all their math concepts! I teach Fifth Grade at a low income public school.
Many of my students come from families that have low income and minimal formal education.
About 80% of my students receive free or reduced lunch. With the economy in the crisis it is in, getting help from families that are struggling is not possible. Please help my students become more active mathematical problem solvers.
My Project
I believe these materials would change the performance of my students and student attitudes toward math class. These board games would make problem solving so much more fun for my students. We use task cards in math almost on a daily basis. Being able to continue to use task cards but using them to be able to play a game would make reviewing for the state tests more fun. Students need to know that math can be enjoyable. Students dread testing review, but reviewing while being able to play a basic board game would allow them to enjoy the review.
