Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My current students' experienced distance learning as third and fourth graders. Concepts such as multiplication, fractions and basic number sense are difficult for them due to the pandemic and distance learning challenges. Not only do I have to teach eighth grade standards, but I also have to fill in the gaps to better prepare my students for the state test at the end of eighth grade year.

The materials from this project will allow me to bring enjoyment into learning mathematics.

As my students progress from concept to concept and fill in their learning gaps, I want to create fun tasks where they feel comfortable in learning. The wheel of fortune, buzzers, and the projector will enable me to create and use different tasks such as connect 4, worksheets, games, competitions and much more.

My goal is to encourage my students to become lifelong learners no matter the challenges and difficulties they face or paths they take in life.
