This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students range in age from 11 to 12 years old and enjoy learning new things as they try to get a grasp on mathematics in a Title I school. Over 80% of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes, and most have not been given a positive view of math.

I love seeing their faces when a new concept becomes clear to them, and they have that, "ah-ha" moment.

My job is not only to teach them math but to help them get excited about learning math. My students vary greatly in range of maturity and attention span, so meeting them on their individual levels to keep them engaged is an exciting challenge!

My Project

This will change the whole perspective of math being a boring subject. It will have my students ready to learn and not in the old conventional way. I want to make it more exciting with them having random "Glow in Dark" Days. Or having them able to use different surfaces in which they can use to complete assignments. It starting to change around here in the math world. It's time to make it fun. My students deserve, and will be ready for all the fun they will have with these new materials that they will be provided.
