My Students

I am teaching Kindergarten this year at a new district.

My students are eager to learn and are so excited to be able to come into the classroom.

They are loving their first year of school and exploring all the things. I work in a Title I school and many students come from low income family situations.

I love watching my students learn and grow every day. Our time in kindergarten is so important because we teach the foundational skills they will use their whole lives. I am so proud of how my students cheer their peers on in their learning as well and keep our classroom community a happy place to be!

My Project

Kindergarten math sets the foundation for learning that students will need for their whole math learning career. It is not merely teaching them to count to 100 but to use tools to understand what and why they are counting and to really grasp number sense. Teaching one to one correspondence is so important. These math stations are ready to go and will be easily accessible to students to choose their own math stations.

When we teach students counting in these early stages, counting with one to one correspondence is so important.

By funding this project for my class you will be giving them the tools and manipulatives they need for those very important skills.
