Making Math Count for Students in Rural Alaska

Help me give my students laptop chargers, a portable charging cart station, math games, manipulatives, and more items for classroom use.

My Project

The items I'm requesting can help students better engage with the math content they are learning, by increasing interest through math games and hands-on learning opportunities. Students will be able to apply their knowledge and skills, while also having fun learning and practicing the math skills.

I requested financial literacy workbooks to provide a more up-to-date curriculum for consumer math classes.

These workbooks will help students work through the material independently, or in whole group settings. Our current consumer math curriculum is outdated, so these workbooks will allow students to better engage with the material and learn skills they can apply to their real lives after high school.

I also requested a charging station and computer chargers for students to use. Students leave their computers at school, but we do not have enough chargers on site to charge all devices. This makes it difficult for students to be able to engage with learning activities that are online. This charging device will provide a space for computers to charge overnight and ensure students are ready to begin their classwork when they arrive to school.
