My Project

In the months following COVID-19 and stay-at-home learning, it became clear that social-emotional learning, as well as opportunities to collaborate and have hands-on learning opportunities were cornerstones in education. When learning, it's vital that students construct understanding together with peers, questioning, discussing, and problem-solving together to make sense of a concept or skill. Unfortunately, this was made difficult with learning from home and social distancing mandates even when we were able to return.

The materials I am requesting will support student learning by providing opportunities for students to really be engaged, as well as work with others in games that promote fun and learning.

The books that I am requesting are in genres that students have expressed interest in, such as mysteries and graphic novels. When students are excited about what they are reading, there is an increased likelihood that they'll read more and more, which will provide them with ample opportunity to grow as a reader! The protractors I'm requesting are to support opportunities for students to have hands-on learning in our measuring unit. The math blocks and games will provide opportunities for students to work together, have conversations, and construct understanding in math, all while having fun!
