Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I get to teach history to energetic, creative, and fun-going middle schoolers from South Los Angeles. Though they are in special education classes with large learning gaps, each of them brings their unique talents, personalities, and world views that I use to help make the study of History real and relevant to them.

My Project

This project is part of the first unit I teach my students titled, maps. The material I am requesting is meant to make learning about continents, maps, and such, in a fun hands-on way.

For example, the blue punching balloons, glue, and scissors will be used when I ask my students to create their own globes by cutting and pasting printed outlines of continents and pasting them on the blue punching balloons.

The maps I am requesting will be displayed on the walls to support and guide them to place the outlines in the correct position. These will then be displayed and hung in the classroom. Please consider supporting this project and helping it come to life.
