My Students

I teach a Pre-k class in Los Angeles. My students are being Special Education students who are being prepared for Kindergarten. They have so much fun learning their letters, numbers, colors and shapes and the million other skills they need to be successful. I love to make their learning creative and enjoyable. When I increase my knowledge with the use of current technology, it reflects in my lessons, instruction, and their achievements.

My students are 3, 4 and 5 years old with various educational needs including Autism and they learn at their own individual pace.

They are curious, energetic and always eager to learn new material in creative ways. My school district uses the Creative Curriculum, in which my students are learning through play. My students get excited when I have the opportunity to integrate technology into their lesson. I have been an Early Childhood Educator for 10 years. I have my teaching credential in Early Childhood Special Education which is my passion. I love it so much that if I was financially able to I would teach this class forever for free.

My Project

I would like to request a MacBook to assist me with accessing a wider variety of professional development opportunities in and using current technology. A MacBook would allow and help me to access Apple's Education modules on the web. Apple offers and has many online courses through iTunes U and podcasts that can help me create a digital environment in my class and that would benefit my future students. Having a MacBook would allow me to participate webinars, and have access to educational apps. I have seen how some of my peers have integrated technology their classrooms and I believe that a MacBook would allow me to develop and integrate technology into my lessons. My goal is to build my knowledge and use of technology as a pivotal part of my instruction so that I can provide a diverse learning environment that is crucial to all my students' various learning needs.

My classroom environment will be greatly improved with the addition of a MacBook because it will allow me to integrate technology that would improve, my students' learning outcomes through the curriculum and technology usage.

As a result, my students will enjoy the crazy creative lessons that I will be able to provide with the MacBook. I am super excited about the possibility of providing this technology for the students in my classroom
