This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Kindergarten is awesome! My students are very eager to learn more and more every day. They are extremely curious and they love to read and engage in Math! I am a Kindergarten, bilingual teacher at a school where most of our students are struggling readers and are one or more years below grade level in reading.
It is my number one priority to get my students reading on grade level, or above and to give them a strong Math foundation so that they are well prepared for first grade.
I am at a low socioeconomic school where many of our students have tremendous learning gaps. Many of our students have difficult home lives, so it is extremely important to provide them with a safe, caring, and positive learning environment.
My Project
These materials that I hope to get for my students are much needed replacements and additions to our current literacy workstations.
The find the letter activity center will be used for my word work literacy station to develop my pre-k student's motor skills and alphabet knowledge.
The markers and write the letter activity center will be used in the writing workstation to develop my student's writing ability.
My current listening station is currently not working and I am having difficulty providing this workstations to my students, and it is one of their favorites!
Finally The stack blocks will help me provide another workstation for my pre-k students so that they engage in free play.
