Making Literacy Exciting For First Graders

Help me give my students a class set of Scholastic News and Science Spin to help develop their close reading and discussion skills.

My Project

Please help me purchase a class set of Scholastic News and Science Spin to help my first grade students develop their close reading and discussion skills.

I have an amazing group of first graders who love to be challenged.

They are currently learning how to participate in a Socratic Seminar, which is a discussion technique that teaches them to ask and answer higher order thinking questions.

These classroom magazines will give my first graders access to literacy rich texts to help develop important reading and questioning skills. This project also gives them access to digital copies of the magazine to use technology in the classroom.
