Making Learning Stick With Hands-On Manipulatives

Help me give my students Science and Social Studies manipulatives for their library.

My Project

Students at our school love their library time because each week they can explore topics of interest using hands-on manipulatives and creative materials. These opportunities give students opportunities to build vocabulary, social skills, and inquiry through collaborative, choice-based, creative play. This is important for all students, but most important for our students who are developing language skills.

I would like to add some Science and Geography materials to the offerings with a human body model, a motorized solar system, and an inflatable globe.

I have a number of students interested in these topics and they tie directly to curriculum units so teachers can borrow them for use in the classroom.
