Making Learning Fun

My Project

I would like to add items to my classroom that meet the needs of my students. Each year I have students with a wide variety of interests. I like to incorporate the things they enjoy in to the classroom to get them to participate in the lessons and be enagaged with their learning. Some of the interests this year include ocean animals and race cars. Most items are for lessons and a couple are incentives for when they have earned a break and can choose an item to play with.

The majority of my students this year are autistic.

I would like to have more items in the classroom that can help them to better communicate their needs and wants. Also we are working on regulating emotions to better express themselves. Visuals are also very helpful for them to understand and learn routines and lessons.

My students all enjoy laughing and learning through play and hands on activities. Working in a small group they open up more and feel comfortable participating and sharing stories or answering questions. I would like them to have the opportunity to master their IEP goals and learn new concepts with a variety of strategies that can help them wit their success.
