My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I try to keep things simple, creative, and meaningful for their learning experiences.

My students are hard-working, creative, and clever.

Their love for reading at this age is essential for me to create as a teacher. From the minute they walk into my classroom I focus on their potential to grow as a reader while they are with me. Many of my students receive free or reduced lunch and are raised in a poverty area. I may not be in control of their home lives; however, I can certainly teach them how to love school and reading through their experience in my classroom.

My Project

As times are changing I want to provide students with fun ways to think outside of the box all while learning to work with others. These fun STEM activities will be used for brain breakers, indoor recess, and other various times to support learning opportunities.

Students will be allowed take the materials to a special spot in the classroom to provide them with time to take a mind break and use their creativity to build.

It will allow them to be their own teacher and learn to work well with others.
