My Students

My students are among the smartest, brightest, loving and most inquisitive students out there! I have the privilege of teaching kindergarten! Each child enters my room with a different story and background, and my job is to bring them in as my own and create a loving and safe environment for them to learn and grow. My classroom is full of 24 enthusiastic, engaged kindergartners. They come to school eager to learn new things every day. We are constantly pushing forward to meet curriculum guidelines and benchmarks.

My Project

I am a Kindergarten teacher. I am requesting these math materials and activities because I want my students to have many opportunities to learn basic math skills such as counting, adding and subtracting. The activities I have requested will provide my students with fun, engaging math activities and countless hours of learning. These activities will also help review many early math skills that students need to have when they leave Kindergarten. Counting is such an important part of math. I have requested a number of hands-on items that will allow the students opportunities to count, compare, and order objects. Students will be able to put numbers in order, count by 1's, 10's, 2's and 5's. Students need to be able to recognize numbers and be able to show what a number means. Students learn so much by engaging in hands-on activities. Hands-on learning is a great way to get students to learn by doing and to think critically. Students love when they have time to work independently on activities or work with a partner. These activities will allow them to do that.
