Making Learning Fun for Everyone

My students need a variety of resources to make their learning experience the best possible. As a new teacher in the district, I am working towards fully furnishing my classroom.

My Students

Elmwood is a small town in the Midwest with loads of small-town appeal. From the small shops downtown to the school that is currently getting renovated, Elmwood has great things to offer families. I had the pleasure to grow up in this community. It was with great excitement that I returned to my high school as a teacher.

All of my students bring a unique and exciting element to each day.

Across the three classes I teach, Earth Science, Biology and Biology 2, the students have a wide variety of learning preferences. Each class has its own personality that shines through also.

My Project

This project is an attempt to begin to furnish my classroom the best way possible. As a first year teacher, I am finding myself wanting various materials to make learning the best possible for all my students. Some class periods, I rely on a flipped learning framework. I have recorded myself giving the students the necessary notes. A couple students have anonymously told me that they do not have headphones. I would like to have a few on hand to be able to provide for those students as well as any students who forgot their headphones that day. A set of classroom calculators will come in handy for my Earth Science students. In that course, we regularly do calculations during lab work. Many of those students do not come equipped with their own calculator. My Anatomy and Physiology students will gain a great resource by having the two coloring books. These coloring books have in-depth explanations of the different body parts and their functions. These coloring sheets serve as a great study aid to learn the many parts of the human body.

These learning aids will help students be able to focus on learning the topic at hand.

By having these resources available in the classroom, my students will not have to stress about being able to purchase the needed equipment on their own.
