My Students
My classroom is full of energetic kindergarten children who are military dependents. I encourage a lot of movement in the classroom because brain-based whole body activities propel them further toward success and who likes to sit 8 hours a day? I like to empower my students to have choice in everything they do to become independent learners and thinkers while still maintaining structure they need. By selecting how they will sit, stand, or move while they work allows that freedom of movement while encouraging their best work.
My Project
Your donation will help the learning environment of our classroom by giving my students more choice. This encourages my little learners to make a choice of which seating arrangement is best for their learning. By giving them a choice I am helping them begin to learn how to make appropriate choices to make them more successful in the classroom. This also helps reduce the amount of behavior problems that can happen. By having alternative seating students have their own space to spread out and have room to work. The wobble chair has been proven to increase focus and stimulate brain activity. The lap desks can be used on traditional chairs, down on the floor, and on various seating options while providing a supportive tabletop for work.
Having alternative learning options also supports engagement.
The array of options adds excitement for students and further engages them when not every activity or lesson is high interest. By having higher engagement, students will be more successful. This enables them to become 21st century learners.
