Making Learning Colorful!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 4th grade, where all of my students are considered to be living under the poverty level. I make sure to value the attributes and culture of my students to create a positive classroom environment. I do this by incorporating their culture into my teaching while teaching them 21st century skills in order to prepare them to be college and career ready. Our classroom motto is, "Be Kind To One Another," which is from a person who inspires us to be our best self, Ellen DeGeneres.

I am so blessed to be working with amazing students who inspire me every day.

In addition, we practice positive learning habits by having a growth mindset and learning about how many individuals have achieved success by persevering through challenges such as, Michelle Obama and Thomas Edison. We abide by this in everything that we do.

Finally, students feel welcome and confident to try their best all the time by making sure they understand that , "Mistakes are Proof that you are Trying." My scholars look forward to coming to school and trying their best every day.

My Project

My students will use the dry erase pocket sleeves on a daily basis to practice basic math facts, handwriting, answering comprehension questions. They will use the colorful paper and for art activities. Gel pens and markers will come handy for all our pop art activities. They will also be able to use it to practice spelling and editing their writing.

My students will love using the colorful lined post its to work collaboratively and jot their ideas down.

They will use the sheet protectors to organize and have handy guidelines like sentence starters at their fingertips. I will use the colorful paper to make those copies.

Finally, students will use the organizer and file folder to find work that they missed organized into the different subject areas and store their completed assignments in their file folder.

Pencils, stapler and tape dispenser are classroom essentials.
