My Project
Since COVID-19, students have had challenges with emotional self-regulation. This project will provide resources for learning self-regulation through yoga and sensory tools. At school, we learn how to use the sensory tools to return to a regulated state so the students are ready to learn.
In our lessons, we proactively teach the students how to reach an optimal learning state using yoga and internal self-awareness/mindfulness.
The materials include yoga cards, laminating pouches, and colorful cardstock for visuals.
During our social-emotional lessons, we work on developing relationships with one another and gaining confidence for real-life experiences. The other materials in our project include organization tools. When students have an organized environment, they are more likely to have an organized mind.
This project will serve students in the autism and affective needs classrooms.
