Making Imagination Come to Life With Laser Cutting and Engraving!

My Project
We were gifted a Glowforge laser wood and acrylic printer. This machine allows students to either choose from a huge variety of premade designs or can create their own design. Students can scan in their design and watch the Laser cut the wood or acrylic and see their imagination come alive. Once the laser is completed then they put the peices together and paint the parts. We have set up after school clubs where the students get excited to use their hands and not just watch tv or play video games.
We have tried to create a path for students to test their minds and creativity uing math and technology.
Even though I am a 2nd grade teacher, I started this club for our middle school students.Students benefit from using laser cutters and engravers because they offer a hands-on, engaging way to learn and apply STEM concepts, fostering creativity, innovation, and practical skills for a wide range of projects and future careers.
