Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are very intelligent and creative but now due to their dependence on technology they have lost their connection with their own imagination. I want to give my students the opportunity to reconnect with their creativity by utilizing art in our history class. All the supplies in my project will give student the materials they need to create visual stories about the historical concepts or events that they will learn. Using visuals and art in a history class helps students better understand and connect with the past by making abstract or complex events more concrete and relatable. Visuals like maps, political cartoons, photographs, and artwork provide context, spark curiosity, and encourage critical thinking about historical perspectives, cultures, and experiences. Engaging with art also allows students to express their interpretations creatively, deepening their comprehension and retention of historical content.
