This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Financial Literacy is a foundational skills for lifelong money skills and habits. Students in 5th grade are old enough to grasp basic financial ideas but still young enough to form healthy attitudes towards money. Students are eager to make independent decisions with their allowances and this is a great opportunity to teach budgeting, savings and the difference between needs and wants.

By learning to track money, set savings goals, or understand simple banking concepts, students gain a sense of independence.

Financial Literacy also shows students how math skills can apply in everyday life- whether its calculating change, comparing prices, or understand debt, this project will make math more engaging and practical.
