Making Every Shot Count: Differentiated Basketball Hoops for All

Help me give my students basketball hoops they can actually feel successful using! Most of my students get discouraged when they can't get their ball in our standard sized, built in basketball hoops.

My Project

My students love basketball, but many of them struggle to participate fully because standard-size hoops are too high for their height and physical development. I want to provide drop basketball hoops and portable basketball systems that are adjustable, allowing all students—regardless of size or ability—to experience success on the court.

These hoops will help me create a more inclusive PE environment where every student can actively participate, build confidence, and develop fundamental basketball skills at their own level.

Unfortunately, I’m unable to purchase these tools through school funding because our designated NYC DOE vendor does not carry the appropriate equipment needed for my program. This limitation makes it difficult to differentiate my lessons and add the variety that my students need and deserve.
