Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Miss, where can I print my essay?" "Do you have a pencil sharpener?" "Can you turn up the volume?" Without a doubt, these are some of the most frequently asked questions in my classroom. Aside from computers, my classroom lacks basic electronics to make things run smoothly.

My students are bright, enthusiastic students, many of whom come from countries such as Ecuador and Egypt.

They struggle without having access to things such as printers, speakers, and even pencil sharpeners.

My Project

For this project, I am requestioning basic electronics (not computers) to use in our English classroom. The color printer will be used to create a workspace for students to print their essays, pictures for projects, and for me to print my daily lesson plans. Speakers will be used to ensure all students are able to hear videos and presentations. The laminator will allow me to create task cards and other manipulatives that can hold up with multiple uses. Lastly, the micro refrigerator will be used to keep a few drinks and ice pouches cold for students.

For the past year, my students have been working from home and have not had access to supplies and electronics that make learning easier and more equitable.

With these basic electronics, we will be able to get my classroom back up and running.
