Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 32 great intermediate and early advanced ELD students that strive to get to new heights. My students are interested in seeing the world, technology, and having fun while learning how to communicate with their peers in English. They are constantly becoming more and more confident in being able to communicate with those around them in English.

Many of my students have dreams of higher education and traveling the world, while some struggle with being able to see a future different from the norms that they are used to seeing in their home countries.

My Project

These materials are going to give my students access to inclusive literature, helping them develop their own individual personalities while connecting with those around them. Many of my students find that reading in a new language is becoming easier when they are able to connect with the story, I hope that bringing different types of stories into our classroom library will encourage students to keep reading and learning about themselves.

Board games are a great way to connect with other students and make a stressful situation (learning a new language) into a fun activity.
