This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title 1 school and want to make social studies more exciting for my 32 students. One way to do this is to tie it in with art. I would like to arrange a few "ancient art" experiences:
1. Egyptian Mummies: roll of white butcher paper, Medical bandages for masks, paint
2. Inca Gods: India ink, steel wool, tin foil,
3. Greek God Marionettes: ceramic clay, various types of material and trimming for clothes, fishing wire
I am very excited to be able to do these projects with my students. I feel that these projects will make social studies come alive for my students.
