Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach incredible, inquisitive, diverse students. They make coming to work the highlight of my day. They are hard working, polite, and eager for a challenge.
My students attend a Title 1 school but that doesn't stop them.
They come to school ready to learn and make their impact on our world. They are dreamers, thinkers, and they know how special they are! They make every opportunity a possibility and it is a pleasure to witness their accomplishments and cheer them when they face an obstacle.
My Project
We are looking to add more materials to launch the second year of our Makerspace lunch group. Many students who attend this optional lunch choose to focus on art or explore various technology tools which is why we would like to add two Osmos with coding and creation sets and other art tools.
Many students described our Makerspace lunch as the best lunch they ever had.
Our Makerspace lunch allows for students to have time and freedom to explore their interests and passions without a deadline or an expectation of a successful product. During our lunches, we focus on the process, learning from others and their experiences, and taking risks.
Adding these new materials to our makerspace lunch will allow my students more options to explore and create during this time. If this project is fully funded, we can also use these supplies in classrooms to enhance our current curriculum since many of the supporting Osmo apps are free. Kindergarteners through sixth graders can benefit with your contribution.
