Help me give my students a better distance learning experience with a Wacom Wireless Graphics Drawing Tablet to make better use of Zoom whiteboard features and annotating electronically submitted essays

My Students

Students come into my classroom knowing that they will be engaged with the curriculum in a fresh and relevant lesson. We dig deep into primary sources, build our understanding of historical context, engage our critical thinking faculties, and connect learning to our past and future.

How would life be different from the world you grew up in? What kind of support would you need in order to succeed? What would it take for you to LOVE school? I teach World History and AP World History to Sophomores. My students are dreaming big dreams and are eager to develop the skills that will help them attain their goals. They are serving in their community with the If I Could Change the World service learning project. They are developing their global citizenship skills as they research global challenges, build historical context, and engage in service and advocacy toward issues they care about. I strive to create a supportive and inspiring classroom environment that sharpens their knowledge and skills, while helping students better understand and connect with our global community.

My Project

Digital whiteboards are here to stay. Whether it is the whiteboard feature on Zoom, Google's Jamboard, or the many other available options out there - none of them work very well with just a trackpad or mouse. I know that I can utilize a graphics tablet to write on digital whiteboards and utilize them in a much more meaningful way.

A graphics tablet will enable me to quickly pull student ideas, create on-the-fly graphic organizers, and make a more dynamic live-class than is currently possible.

Additionally, a graphics tablet will allow for essay grading that is more relevant since all AP essays must be handwritten and are currently being turned in as a pdf. The ability to annotate these handwritten essays is very important in order to maximize the value of the assignment.
