My Project
Many of our young learners were impacted by COVID-19 even though they weren't in school yet. Now that they're on campus, we want to provide opportunities for them to develop their social skills and emotional learning.
By creating space for them to self-regulate emotionally and get the calming time they need, they will be better able to learn and participate in class.
The floor pillow, book display, and sensory items will help complete our classroom’s calming area and provide the students with a safe place to regulate their emotions. Play is a big part of how our kindergarteners learn and explore the world, so we also want to provide play sets, like the Melissa and Doug sets, for them to play collaboratively and creatively.
