Making a Difference: One Biography at a Time

My students need to believe that their talents, gifts, and passions can develop into something much bigger with effort, heart, and through education. These biographies will help to instill a growth mindset in my students.

My Students

My students attend a great school in Upstate South Carolina where the percentage of college graduates is less than 25%. I work each day to show my students how amazing they are, and by doing so, I believe I am helping keep them on track to their very own college degree or a career choice in which they can be successful.

Our school is made up of a diverse group of learners.

They come from all walks of life, carrying with them different interests, gifts, and talents. They are eager and excited fifth graders, ready to learn all they can about our world.

My Project

Making a difference. One phrase which describes a teacher's hopes and dreams for her students. It is my hope that through these biographies I will be able to instill a growth mindset in my students. These biographies are about heroes and heroines of our past who have overcome adversity and through perseverance turned their dreams into realities. That is my hope for my students, and I hope by immersing them in the lives of these heroic characters, they will find the motivation and encouragement needed to make their mark on the world.
