This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in my class are extremely creative 8 to 9 -year-olds. As a group, they have and continue to overcome extreme life experiences. Despite all the negative things they go through they demonstrate that they want to improve and be better. No matter how hard the day is they always come in ready to try their best.
They make me want to do my absolute best every day.
They come in every day ready with ideas and perspectives that are eye-opening, unique, and a bit silly at times.
My Project
I know now that I will be teaching online for a good part of the school year, or possibly the whole year. From our surprise shut down I found it incredibly difficult to teach from just one computer. In order to see my students, see their questions and present information I needed a second device. For the time being I used my phone however there were several issues with how big my class was as well how scrunched up the features I needed were.
Utilizing an iPad would allow me to provide clear instruction to my students, as well as utilizing the Apple pencil to be able to demonstrate where to write to my students as we are integrating interactive digital notebooks.
I am teaching from home the ring light can also provide adequate lighting as natural lighting is a bit difficult to control. The stand will help me make sure I have everything ready to go when needed. Since my students will be in third grade an iPad will not be provided by my school.
