Making A Difference By Mentoring Young Black Girls In Society

Help me give my students hygiene and mental health support bags for 15 young black girls.

My Project

I support the after-school extended day program at a Title I school. We are focusing on reading, mathematics, and enrichment. We will discuss the dynamics of growing up as a young black girl in society and the joys and pains of life.

We will discuss self-esteem, colorism, mindset, body image, hair texture, family dynamics, appearance, and education.

This will help guide them with knowledge of self, positive role models, and different views of life from a different lens. Hygiene bags, along with books about self-love, would be a great support for this effort.
