Making a Change in Our Community!

Help me give my students a coin counter to help us sort and count coins during our coin drives!

My Project

My readers are special because they are mine. Each one brings a uniqueness to our library, enriching the learning environment for all. My 350 scholars represent a diverse range of backgrounds and academic achievements. A common thread among all is the love of reading we strive to build upon in our library.

Every year, we hold two coin drives, with the money collected used to purchase books from our book fair to be donated to a local organization.

Unfortunately, our coin counter stopped working during our last coin drive and we desperately need a new one!

My readers understand and appreciate the connection we have with our local community, and with that in mind, we choose a different organization to receive the books we purchase from our donated coins. Since 2012, we have donated to our hospital, WISH (a women’s shelter), Gospel Rescue Mission (a homeless shelter), Ark of Faith (an organization serving those in need), Rise Up (a nonprofit building schools in communities around the world), Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center (a facility offering opportunities to people of all ages), Muskogee Bridges Out of Poverty (an organization empowering low-income families), Fostering Hope (an organization offering support to children being placed in foster homes), Camp Bennett (a summer camp for children and adults with special needs), and CASA.

Every donation we receive helps us to ensure our students are engaged in the larger community around them and connect with those who are in need. Thank you for choosing to donate to this project.
