This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students at my school are the most enthusiastic bunch of learners! They yearn for opportunities that will help them be ready for the types of jobs the 21st century has come to offer.
If you want to see 100% of my students 100% engaged, give them a problem to solve that involves critical thinking, creativity and collaboration, and you're there!
Give them the right tools and technology, and you will be amazed at what they can come up with!
This is the opportunity that I can provide to close to 300 students at my school as their technology and innovation teacher. Providing students with a variety of tools and technology to engage them in unique tasks is the key to seeing them develop the skill sets necessary to succeed in our ever changing job market.
My Project
As educators, we must recognize that the world around us is changing with increasing speed, and the skill sets our students need to be career ready are also changing! To me, this means how we teach must also change! Curriculum plans for our students must have learning objectives that engage them in creative critical thinking tasks that involve technology.
This Makey Makey STEM kit will get my students involved with collaborative and creative problem solving projects that incorporate science, technology and engineering.
These projects will not only help them develop the future ready skills they need, but it will also make learning fun and engaging!
