Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in a poverty stricken area. Many do not have the opportunities that many children enjoy. Many don't have books in their homes, other than what they can get from the school library.
The library is the center of the school and as such is an important place in our community.
As I work to instill a love of reading and books with my students, I am trying to make it a comfortable and welcoming place.
My students are enjoying coming into the library this year. They are playing games, building with legos and other materials, coloring, and building their community.
My Project
My students don't understand about circuits and how electricity works. Makey Makey is a great tool for them to learn about closed circuits for my older students and snap circuits are a great way to teach my younger students.
Snap circuits are a great way for younger children to interact with closed circuits and to understand how they work.
They are fun and very easy to use and figure out.
Makey Makey is easy to use with students and are a great way to get them to learn about conductive materials and for them to think outside of the box.
