My students need a ton of craft supplies, like cotton balls and aluminum foil, so they can gather to “create, invent, tinker, explore and discover using their creative minds. Explore it! Build it!
After being flooded on the first day of school in 2011, we were displaced for 5 years and are now in our new building. We are starting a brand new Maker Space and will need a lot of materials for the students to complete several 20% projects. Our Pre-K-2 students will be participating in these projects throughout the year. Our students love to create, research and make wonderful projects. I wish for the program to be a huge success and most of all for the students to enjoy their learning!
My Project
"If you can imagine it, you can make it.” Students will be learning in a different way for this project! What 20% projects allow students to do is pick their own project and learning outcomes, while still hitting all the standards and skills for their grade level. In fact, these students often go "above and beyond" their standards by reaching for a greater depth of knowledge than most curriculum tends to allow. These craft items will allow students to create. Students come up with an idea, research the idea and then design something that correlates with their idea and project.
