it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Dual Language education is a wonderful way to open up new worlds, ideas and ways of expressing yourself. My students are continuing to hone their skills to become bilingual, biliterate, and more well rounded individuals.
Using growth mindset, we are also practicing how to become better members of our communities.
Becoming more in tune with oneself allows us to to become more familiar with our personal needs, this helps my students take ownership of their education. My students are bright, intelligent children who work hard in both languages (English and Spanish) to become better mathematicians, scientists, readers and future leaders.
My Project
Every week my students get time to work on their maker's space upcycling projects. During this time they take recycled items to create a variety of projects, from dioramas, to board games, castles, and more. This is a time for them to use their creativity and create art and also functional pieces around the classroom.
Having the Cricut machine, heat press, vinyl, and other materials would give their projects a boost and allow them to take their creations to the next level.
Imagine being a kid and being able to take your drawing or handwriting to create a vinyl sticker or iron on project (with adult supervision of course)? My students would love this opportunity to use these tools to give their projects a more finished look.
