My Students

My students love creating and experimenting— with the right tools and supplies, the possibilities for tinkering and exercising our creativity are limitless.
I have 25 enthusiastic first graders! They are from diverse backgrounds and represent many different ethnic/cultural groups, speak multiple languages, and have varied economic levels. They work hard, are inquisitive, and energetic. Our school focus is to close the achievement gap for all students, promote their learning with standards-based instruction that maintains rigor, while meeting the needs of all students and ensuring that our students are on grade level by the completion of 3rd grade.
My Project
Tinkering is the mother of invention! My class is filed with students ready to let their imagination and building hands fly. Help me give my students the supplies and space they need to bring their creations to life.
Encouraging students to create and build models not only allows them to explore their creativity, but employs engineering practices critical for 21st century learning.
By donating to my project, you will be instrumental in helping 1st graders discover their love for problem solving and inventing which in turn builds their stamina and grit. Future engineers and designers are in the making, all because of our generous donation.
