My Project
During COVID I had to close my Makerspace, which was a space in my classroom where students could work together to design, build, and create many things. This space is organized to facilitate cooperative hands-on experiences. I believe these experiences are important for academic and social-emotional learning in our classroom.
As a teacher at a STEAM school, I believe it is important to provide opportunities for students to engage as STEM learners and practice engineering skills.
The Makerspace in my classroom allows students to explore their creative side, practice our Vision (students will think critically, respond digitally, and communicate effectively), and use the Engineer Design Process in fun creative ways. The kits I am requesting today will replenish our Makerspace and help bring it back to life after COVID.
