This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a teacher of a multi-age 3/4 group of 90 students. I teach science and social studies. In my class we do a LOT of making. We love to get our hands moving and seeing what we can create. Many of these students don't get a ton of chances to express themselves creatively.

Every quarter we focus on a different unit of study.

Which means lots and lots of projects! We use a variety of materials in my room and the students truly enjoy the creative outlet throughout their days.

With the art materials in my project, I hope to give students the opportunity to continue to create lots more projects using a variety of mediums. It's important for me to provide them with choices, and when we have access to materials, it makes it fun and easy.

I also included lots of reusable building materials. In my room, I have a maker space for students to create anything that their heart desires. They get the opportunity to build everyday, and never seem to get tired of it. I would love to get even more materials for them to use in order to get their creative juices flowing and exposed to a variety of materials.

Also, I included some things for my classroom (teacher materials, flex seating, books, etc.). These are things I hope to improve my classroom and its culture. I always want students to feel welcome and comfortable in my classroom. These extra things will make it feel like home away from home for students!

Thank you!
