Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My marker doesn't work is often heard in my classroom. Students use small whiteboards and dry erase makers during lessons in math and reading. These tools help keep students engaged.
My students are bright and resilient.
They come from very humble homes that struggle economically. Yet they come to school everyday and try their best to learn. They are learning English as a second language. They need extra support to learn how to read. They live in a neighborhood that is nestled amongst train tracks and factories. They need intensive support to break the code and become fluent readers.
My Project
My students need dry erase markers of assorted colors because they use them daily to solve math problems and explain their thinking. They also use them during class to show what they understand and ask for help. They are an important tool throughout the subject areas. I am also requesting astrobright paper. The astrobright paper will be used to make foldable to show cause and effect, sequence of events, comparing and contrasting, and make theme connections. The astrobright paper will also be used to add activities and important information to each students individual measurement and data interactive journal.
Please help us continue to grow in all academic areas.
