School supplies have become less of a priority, and asking students to go out and buy their own is even more difficult. That being said, it's apparent that my students have the desire to learn something new, and they deserve the best technology currently has to offer for them.
Directly in the center of a major city, surrounded by noisy streets and busy vendors, you can find our school.
Our school caters to students in grades 7-12. My students come from low-income, big dream backgrounds. They work relentlessly, but are still using the same supplies and technology that has been in our building since I arrived. We are overlooked for innovation, especially because of the budget cuts and the demand on higher test scores.
My Project
A MakerBot would be amazing to have! Could you imagine my students creating state of the art products that align with their projects. They will also feel as if their education is put at a higher value. They will be the talk of the block! The discoveries and resources that we can create will be unlimited, and I know they can't wait to explore.
I want to leave my students with an appreciation for learning as they explore our curriculum and build 3-D interactive models that directly support and align with their findings.
For this reason it is imperative that each student has access to this kind of technology. Thank you SO much.
