This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Today, I am asking for your help to add STEM opportunities to the MakerSpace corner in my elementary school classroom.

Adding a maker space to a class can enhance learning by fostering hands-on, creative, and collaborative experiences, which in turn develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and resilience skills, ultimately preparing students for the future.

The addition of items that students can play with, such as the three Breakout EDU kits, will enhance our classroom learning in various ways by expanding our math and science curriculum.

The MakerSpace corner provides opportunities for individuals to engage their brains, independently or socially, during unstructured time, allowing them to be creative and think outside the box through activities such as arts & crafts, STEM projects, building, problem-solving, and more.

The Break Out Edu kits will be a unique way to make our learning fun and engaging, and something the students in our rural area will have not experienced before. It will help with collaborative problem-solving, incorporate technology, and still help build curriculum knowledge. The smaller items will help build creativity, along with incentivizing students throughout this journey.

Thank you for your consideration and for providing elementary-age students the opportunity to expand their knowledge and understanding of the STEM world.
