Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This grant proposal seeks funding to establish a makerspace within our high school library media center. The makerspace will serve as a dynamic, collaborative environment where students can engage in hands-on learning, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. By integrating a makerspace into the library, we aim to enhance student engagement, support diverse learning styles, and prepare students for future careers in STEM and other fields.
Makerspaces enhance creativity and ingenuity by providing students with the freedom to invent and create fostering a culture of innovation.
These hands on projects cultivate a sense of community and enable students to enhance their analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Students are more engaged and motivated when they can apply theoretical concepts to real-world projects. Makerspaces encourage collaborative work, helping students develop communication and teamwork skills. Finally, the iterative nature of making teaches students to embrace failure as a learning opportunity and to persist in the face of challenges.
